IMPORTANT TASKS

  • Functional management of the Legal Aerospace division as well as conceptual and technical development
  • Responsibility for the allocation and processing of new loan business as aerospace restructuring and settlement cases
  • Solution-oriented cooperation with other areas, in particular within Legal, the market and credit department, as well as collaboration on other legal issues beyond the primary area of responsibility
  • Ensuring the high quality of decision-making documents with regard to legal aspects and coordinating internal and external decision-making and approval processes from a legal perspective
  • Management of external legal advisors
  • Maintaining/commenting internal processes and the associated sfOs
  • Monitoring, controlling and independent implementation of and participation in bank projects
  • Legal Counseling in all relevant areas of banking/finance and insolvency laws in particular with regard to asset based financing (aircraft, helicopter financing etc.) same as joint venture and corporate financing and handling of NPLs
  • Legal advisor and contact person for the aerospace sales unit and the credit department for all legal issues, usually with particular complexity or special content-related cases
  • Legal advice, drafting, negotiation and execution of financial transactions and advice on financial and insolvency laws
  • Identifying and advising on potential legal risks in financing contracts and transaction structures
  • Drafting and development of new transaction templates for various deal types in relation to inter alia aircraft and helicopter financings,
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and/or other legal documents, including credit and loan agreements, respective security documentation, suretyships, repos, confidentiality and cooperation agreements etc,
  • Due Diligence as regards Aerospace transactions
  • Analysis and preparation of new regulations and laws
  • Maintaining, optimizing and securing sample contracts and improving processes and workflows in the Legal Aerospace team

BEST PRECONDITIONS

  • First and Second Degree in German Law (Erstes und Zweites Juristisches Staatsexamen) or English law qualification (solicitor) or similar qualification under any other jurisdiction,
  • Additional English, Irish, French or US qualification would be considered as a strong plus,
  • Relevant post-qualification experience gained either from a leading international law firm or an international bank or other regulated entity,
  • Excellent drafting skills under German and English law,
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision,
  • Excellent German and English language skills, French language capabilities would be considered as a plus,
  • Strong negotiation skills gained in an international environment,
  • First Management experience is an advantage
  • Team-work and business-oriented mindset
  • Professional experience as well in banking/finance law as in regulatory,
  • Ability to coordinate and align input across internal multi-national functional teams and external advisors (law firms, consultants and/or auditors)
